Choir Season Fast Approaching

We have a new choir room to move into! Move-in Work Parties: Wed. Aug. 27th 7-9pm & Wed. Sept. 3rd 7-9pm. There's something for all abilities to help out: from moving boxes of music, chairs, and piano, to sorting and alphabetizing music. Here's our schedule: Rehearsals begins: Sept. 7th 8:00am we sing for 9am worship every 1st and 3rd Sunday beginning with Sept. 21st

Cub Scout Recruiting

Chapel's Cub Scout pack is recruiting. If you know a boy in 1st to 5th grade who likes outdoor adventures, and wants to strengthen his duty to God and Country, the Cub Scouts is for him. To sign-up or get more information stop by the narthex Tuesday the 26th between 6 & 8 pm.

Chapel CITY Youth Group

High School and Middle School youth group will be starting Wednesday, August 27th, 6:15-8:15pm. Come and join us for fun, fellowship, and worship. This year we are trying something new with having high school and middle school on the same night. The groups will be combined for a time of worship and then separate for the lesson and small groups. African Children’s Choir

Chapel by the Lake will have the good fortune to host the African Children’s Choir for an inspiring show coming up September 7. The African Children’s Choir engages audiences with their radiant smiles, beautiful voices and lively African songs and dances. The program features well-loved children’s songs, traditional Spirituals and rhythmic Gospel favorites. The Choir will be performing at our church on Sunday, September 7 at 6:30 pm. Come and experience a performance that demonstrates the beauty, dignity and potential of each African child! Admission will be free for all ages; a free-will offering will follow the concert.

Save The Date . . . For Our Fall Missions Weekend

YSeptember 19 - 21. Dr. Miriam Adeney, Professor of World Christian Studies, as Seattle Pacific University, will be our quest speaker. Miriam has traveled and served Christ widely throughout the world - she has amazing stories to share. She will expand our view of how the body of Christ is growing throughout the world, and how we at Chapel can participate in the absolutely amazing things God is doing in the world. She will speak Friday evening, Saturday morning, Sunday evening, and of course, Sunday morning. More details will follow - but for now, save the dates!

LOVE INC NEEDS

Ministry Highlight: Covered with Care Linen Ministry is hosted by Chapel by the Lake. They provide assorted bed and kitchen linens as needed for individuals and sometimes large families. New and gently used blankets, comforters, sheets, pillows and cases, for twin, full and queen size beds and bath/hand towels and kitchen towels/oven mittens etc. are also provided if needed. The linens are picked up by the clients and are greatly appreciated by those in need of comfort and warmth.
Food: Really need JAM. Also, condensed milk, instant potatoes, chili, rice, and beans.
Transitional Backpacks: are designed to assist those being released from jail by providing a few essential items and resources to encourage a positive transition back into the community. We're working on moving this ministry into a local church and need volunteers willing to work in this ministry to fill backpack orders.
